| Pak ultra held in Kotbalwal jail mobile phone case | | | Jammu, Nov 05: A Pakistani militant has been arrested on charge of running a mobile phone communication set-up in high security Kotbalwal jail here, officials said.
A team of counter-intelligence wing of state crime investigation department arrested accused Abdul Hay Malik alias Umar Farooq alias Almar Ajmeel despite opposition and protests by inmates of Kotbalwal jail, they said.
He was booked under unlawful activities act and sent to joint interrogation centre today for questioning, they told a news agency. He is the fourth accused arrested in the case.
Malik was accused of making dozens of calls after getting a mobile phone from Amir-e-Zindan (head of detenues) Ruhail Hashmi lodged in the jail, officials said adding that all calls were being traced. Malik had allegedly called up top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Sayeed Abrar several time.
Earlier, three prisoners -- Kashmiri militant Raja Muzaffar and alleged criminals Sajeev Singh Samyal and Gurmeet Singh -- were arrested in the case recently and were being interrogated.
Investigations revealed that a SIM card numbering 351864019958320 and mobile phone number 9906148770 was registered in the name of Sanjeev, who had spent three years in Kotbalwal jail in connection with a murder.
