| Football: Vijay Club blanks Jammu Sports-A | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 7: Vijay Club registered a big 3-0 win over fighting Jammu Sports-A in the super league round of Senior Division Football Tournament, organised by Jammu wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Tanpreet Singh scored the first goal for Vijay Club converting a penalty kick awarded in the 15th minute. Later, after the breather, Vinay Sotra and Nainjot Singh added one goal each in the 45th and 67th minute respectively to make it a big win.
In another scheduled super league match, Young Hero held Churchill Brothers to a goalless draw.
Sainik Colony, Param FC lead in Jr Division
Meanwhile, Sainik Colony Club and Param FC emerged as strong contenders for qualification into the senior division considering their performance in the ongoing junior division super league.
Both the sides have won all their matches played so far. However, the winner of the super league shall be decided after both meet each other.
Earlier, in today’s third super league tie, Sainik Colony defeated Cantt Star Club by four goals to one.
Mohinder Singh was star of the day. He scored three goals in the 30th, 50th and 53rd minute. Gagandeep Singh helped the side improve lead striking in the 62nd minute. Vikas reduced the margin from Cantt Star netting the ball in the 31st minute.
Today’s matches were officiated by Harnil Singh, Vikas, Ajay Kumar and Feastus Sotra.
