JAMMU, Dec 7:Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir today named state men and women teams for the forthcoming 59th Senior National Volleyball Championships to be held at Chennai in Tamil Nadu from December 12.
The teams were finalized after the screening conducted by the State Sports Council under the supervision of Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma.
Meanwhile, the Association wished both men and women teams a success in the competition ahead.
Rajeev Dogra, Rattan Chand, Anchal Singh and Raj Kumari are accompanying the teams as coaches and managers respectively. While men’s team has been placed in pool-C with Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Orrisa, the women team is in group-O and shall be playing against Maharashtra, Orrisa, Uttarakhand and Andaman in the qualifying (league) round.
The Teams:
MEN: Vikas Karlopia, Neeraj Sharma, Sourav Sharma, Shaheen Hussain Bhat, Roshan Lal, Balbinder Singh, Arivind, Mohd. Alyas, Amit Sharma, Wasim Raja, Parveen Kumar and Mulkh Raj.
WOMEN: Arti Sharma, Shaziya Sultan, Sangita Bhat, Tsering Dolkar, Yasmeen Kosar, Sahira Bano, Stanzin Namsas, Manisha Kumari, Ashima Sharma, Meenkshi Jamwal, Priya Charak and Puja Sharma.
