| GCW Gandhi Nagar retains kho-kho trophy | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 7:Host Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar retained the annual inter-college women’s kho-kho trophy outplaying the combined side of Post Graduate (PG) Departments of JU by two points in the final played today.
Right from the beginning, GCW Gandhi Nagar maintained a substantial lead which they well maintained till the match ended 5-3 in latter’s favour. From winners, Shikha, Neetu and Nishu played well. Neetu, who remained unbeaten in both the innings, played key role in Gandhi Nagar win. Dolly Sharma and Heena Khan fought well from PG Departments.
In all, 14 teams from various affiliated colleges of JU participated in this five-day long event on knock-out basis.
In the final, Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau was chief guest, who complimented the winners’ team. Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar, Prof Nalini Kohli was guest of honour.
The final was officiated by Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma (State Sports Council coaches), Sanjay Kumar and Deepak.
