Don’t succumb under pressure to buy peace : KPC to Govt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT NEW DELHI, Dec 7: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has vehemently criticized the parliamentary-civil society team that visited Kashmir recently under the leadership of Ram Vilas Paswan for stressing the Government to accept the conditions laid down by separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Addressing KPC activists, intellectuals and thinkers here today, KPC National President, Kundan Kashmiri stated that delegation must understand the negative fallout of such conditions of Geelani and at the same time government should not succumb under the pressure of separatist forces to buy peace. He further said that historically and constitutionally Kashmir is a closed chapter and if any third party re-opens this subject, it will be a violation of the sovereignty of Republic of India. He said that Indian part of Kashmir does not need referendum being demanded by Geelani, as the same has been done several times in the form of free and fair elections, unlike POK, which has never gone to free and fair polls. Criticizing and condemning the State and centre for rolling out a rehabilitation policy for militant youths of Kashmir with the purpose to win the hearts of pro-pak and separatist elements and to remove the so-called sense of alienation of Kashmiri youth. Kundan Kashmiri stated that such policy of state Government and centre Government alienates and demoralize the nationalist forces and encourage peace loving youth to evolve the pro- militant strategy. Commenting on the demand of commission of inquiry for killing of stone pelters in the valley by Parliamentarian Ramvilas Paswan and other delegation members, Kundan Kashmiri questioned them why not such nature of question of inquiry was demanded for the ethnic cleansing, killing and forcible exodus of KPs from the valley.
