| | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 7: Flaying successive Governments for prevailing miseries of KPs, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) on Tuesday demanded onetime compensation for unemployed over-aged youth of the community. In a meeting held here today, State unit President of KPC- Satish Pajnoo said that a large number of community youth crossed the upper age limit since migration and at no point of time during these twenty long years , any attempt for absorption of youth in Government jobs was made by any dispensation. He said that the upsurge in the number of over-aged youth in the community was due to apathetical attitude of successive Governments. Pajnoo also demanded compensation for orchardists, farmers and those who residential houses got damaged during last twenty years. On the occasion, State Unit General Secretary of KPC- P.N. Pandit urged for simplifying the financial assistance procedure for those suffering from chronic diseases. He said that hundreds of patients suffering from serious diseases are in need of financial assistance but complicated process for obtaining financial assistance deprives them from the treatment. Lambasting Government over the plight of camp inmates, Pandita said that Government never showed its seriousness to address their issues, adding that nothing is being done to improve their living condition. Pandita urged upon the Government to increase the cash assistance of migrants’ upto 12000 rupees per month as the present relief assistance is not sufficient for them, keeping in view the high prices of essential commodities. Others present on the occasion included J.L. Pandita- Vice President, A.K.Pandita- National General Secretary and S.L. Mujoo.
