Beneficiaries protest against administration’s harassment

Kathua Dec 7: The residents of the Nagri Parole held a massive protest under the leadership of district president of PDP S. Surinder Singh against the administration for harassing the nominated beneficiaries of the centre sponsored housing schemes according to which the government has to give the financial assistance to the tune of Rs.90000 to each beneficiary to construct the houses.
The irate residents and beneficiaries of the schemes accused the Town Area Committee and district administration for adopting the means of lame excuses and harassment to the nominated beneficiaries.
Whenever we approach the administration for releasing the due second installment of the amount of Rs.90000 while first installment of Rs.30000 had been given to us to start the construction of the house, then why the administration and Town Area Committee Nagri Parole now has changed its attitude and ignoring the beneficiaries, the lamented .
They said that the scheme was brought by the ex Power Minister Babu Singh to facilitate the 428 extremely poor people of the Nagri but after the sanctioning of scheme is withheld due to the negligence of the concerned agency to relief the people.
On the occasion the district president of the PDP S. Surinder Singh lambasted the present coalition government of NC-Cong led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for confusing and depriving the people from their basic rights.
They said that all the people of the state are crying and it is shameful that the CM Omar Abdullah is ignorant whereas every corner of the state is suffering, the open blood shed and killing of 115 innocent people of Kashmir but no measure have been taken by the government on humanitarian ground to do the justice with the killed kashmiris.
And it was further suggested Omar Abdullah to leave the chair on morale ground if he respects some moral and political values. In protest Jagdeep Singh, ex-capt. Kulbir Singh, Babu Ram, Kala Ram, Ganesh Dutt and others were present.
