IIHT, Microsoft certifies 800 students | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 7: Indian Institute of Hardware Technology (IIHT) on Tuesday organised an impressive seminar in which over 800 students from various colleges of Jammu region got a certification on ‘Windows 7’ jointly given by IIHT and Microsoft. A free 3-days training was imparted to these students by national level experienced faculty of IIHT. Gaurav Sharma, vice-president, IIHT (Bangalore) was the chief guest of the occasion. The seminar was also attended by principals and faculties of various colleges including Government Boys, Girls Polytechnic, IECS and NITS. Sharma in his address highlighted the growing need of hardware and networking professionals in India. He said that in future over 5 lakh jobs are expected to be created and this is the new face of IT industry. Ashish Lohia, Technical Head, IIHT informed about the emerging technologies in the domain of infrastructure management services (IMS). He discussed in the detail about cloud computing, virtualization and hacking. He said that the courses offered by IIHT are in collaboration with Microsoft, Red Hat, Prometric, Sun, CISCO, IBM and Comp TIA and are one of the best courses. Manish Pathania, centre director IIHT Jammu while congratulating the students said that it is only through the initiative of the colleges that these students have got an opportunity to learn about Windows 7. He said that IIHT, Jammu Centre is equipped with modern infrastructure and national level faculty and experts are guiding the students. Sunil Arora conducted the proceedings of the seminar and Amit Pathania presented the formal vote of thanks.
