| Guru Nanak Ji is respectable spiritual personality, who preached for love, peace and mutual brotherhood during his life time: Azad | | Large congregation of Sikh community assembled at Chati Padshahi, Srinagar on the occasion of celebration of 537th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Ji Meharaj | | SRINAGAR, November 05 – “All great religions lead its followers toward the path of Truth, love, peace, mutual brotherhood and tranquility, accordingly, Guru Nanak Ji Mahraj also inculcated the same messenges through his holy teachings throughout his life” said Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad while addressing a large religious congregation of Sikh community at Guru Purb. Mr Azad attended one of the large gathering at Srinagar. On this occasion Sardar Chani Singh, Congress leader, Sardar Kuldeep Singh, President Gurdwara Prabandak Committee, Sardar Teja Singh, Sardar JB Singh, Sardar KL Singh and other prominent personality of Sikh community were also present. While welcoming Mr. Azad, President Gudwara Prabandak Committee praised his arrival on this auspicious day which has revived the secular practices adopted by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and other leaders of his stature, who were always on such occasions attending these congregations. Thousands of Sikh received Azad with thumbing chairs and welcome slogans and hailed his arrival. The Chief Minister in his address emphasized that time has come to work sincerely for strengthening of emotion bonds between people belonging to different religions. He said that great and distinguished religions like Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism and also Sikhism have real impact of purifying sprits of human beings if its followers follow its teachings of love and peace in real perspective. He said that mutual love and peace, which is the message of all religious, are required to high lighted. While throwing light on the life history of Maharaj Guru Nank Singh Ji , Mr. Azad said that his teachings has attained universality because of the fact that it contains good components of all good religions including Hinduism and Islam. He said that as Mahatma Budha got spiritual light under Buddha tree in Gaya in Bihar, similarly, Guru Nanak Ji Mahaj got giyan in the river at Sultanpur when he got direct communication from God. He also recalled visit of Guru Nank Maharj to Macca and Madina the holy cities and his command on Persian and other languages as well. The Chief Minister said that history has witnessed of the facts that Maharj Guru Nanak Ji was as dear to Hindus as to Muslims. He said that Guru ji preached truth, love and concept of mutual brotherhood for which God blessed him on the basis of his piousness of his thoughts. He said present teachings of Guru Nanak Ji have real relevance so that the people live in peace and harmony. He believed that in case his messages are followed in real sprit not only Sikh but also Muslim’s will prosper. The Chief Minister said that Guru Nanak Ji’s teachings provided us an opportunity for self introspection, so that we detect goodness concealed in our souls as pearls are detected inside closed shells. Accordingly, after such revolution human beings are required to strengthen the same component of virtues in order to make them guiding stars while adopting path of truth and honesty. The Chief Minister announced that he has already given instructions for introducing Punjabi language at Ist primary like Kashmiri and Dogri language. He also said that he will ensure opening of Punjabi section in the Cultural Academy from next April. |
