JK an integral part of India: Gupta | `Cong-NC alliance is unholy’’ | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 8: Holding that Jammu and Kashmir is legally constitutionally as well historically is an integral part of India but it was unfortunate that the Chief Minister of the Coalition of the NC-Congress is terming the Accession of this State with Indian Union as a “dispute” and trying to get in race with the separatists and elements hostile to this country, who are creating a hell of the situation and are responsible for sufferings for the people of the State, and thus, harming the national interests. This was observed by the leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta while addressing a meeting of the party activists at Reasi. The meeting was held in connection with on going preparations for holding a Maha Rally at Jammu on December 24, to protest against the controversial utterances of Omar Abdullah and the policy adopted by the coalition cabinet to have return and rehabilitation of the ultras from Pakistan/POK, in addition to the continued highly discriminatory treatment towards Jammu an Ladakh regions. Prof. Gupta termed the Coalition of the NC-Congress as unholy because of their having different policies and programs. They had contested elections on different manifestoes and formed this Coalition without any common agenda of governance. It is no less than a marriage of convenience. Because of this Government has not only failed on all fronts but was responsible for current turmoil in the Valley of Kashmir for which the people of this State as also that of the entire country are paying a heavy price. Terming them as jilted lovers, the BJP leader narrated the history of their getting together and recalled that there was upheaval in 1952-53, when these were sailing together, again they joined hands in 1975 in wake of Indira-Sheikh Accord which resulted in Emergency and brought sufferings to the people. Then, there was trouble in 1984 when Shri G M Shah was used to topple the Farooq Government but amusingly Farooq again joined hands with the Congress in 1986, which led to the eruption of armed militancy for which the people are still facing the blood shed and sufferings. He also recalled that the Sheikh at one time had been describing the Congressmen as the insects of the dirty lanes but the NC leaders are again sailing with those very Congressmen. The results are obvious and the victims are the people of the State. Gupta also held both these parties responsible for continued discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh, and pointed out that even the two out of four members of the Finance Commissioner of the Government itself have again established this discrimination The BJP leader appealed to the people, especially the party activists to gear up for exposing the dubious policies being pursued by this Coalition so as to save the unity of the country and defeat the dangerous designs of the ruling leaders. Meeting was also addressed by Shri Baldev Raj Sharma MLA, District President Shri Kabla Singh and others.
