| NSS volunteers urged to contribute towards nation building | | |

Jammu, Dec 9: The three–day NSS workshop was inaugurated at Govt. Degree College (Boys) Udhampur by the principal of the college
Prof Nutan Kumar Resutra was the chief guest. In his address to the volunteers, he implored upon them to come forward to contribute towards national development through NSS. The spirit of selfless service of the NSS “not me but you” helps fostering brotherhood and communal harmony hence creating conducive milieu for growth, he said’.
Udhey Bhanu, NSS programme officer in his address, touching upon the aims and objectives of the NSS, motivated the volunteers to work endlessly for the eradication of social evils as the youth is a great force in maintaining and enhancing good social practices.
The first day of the workshop opened with cleanliness drive of the College.
Tomorrow on day two, a blood donation camp shall be held in association with HDFC bank.
On day 3, a symposium on theme ‘Role of Youth in Eradication of Corruption from Society’ shall be held.
100 volunteers are participating in the workshop under the guidance of Udhay Bhanu and Suresh Dogra, NSS program officer and Chander Mohan Sharma, NSS assistant.
The volunteers have also started collecting donation for the orphan children of “Bal Ashram”and old age home Udhampur. It is worthwhile to mention here that these children are adopted by the NSS units.
