Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 9: Jammu Kashmir Physiotherapist Association (JKPA) continued its day & night agitation on the 17th consecutive day today.
All the physiotherapy doctors from the parts of the state gathered in their full strength at the dharna site in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office, Mubarak Mandi in the morning.
Physiotherapy doctors discussed their matter in detail & raised slogans against the state govt. & Health Minister for acting irresponsible and remaining as a mute spectator. They accused government for deliberately forcing them to take the extreme steps.
Physiotherapy doctors today demonstrated inside Gandhi Nagar Hospital with their memorandum of demands.
They disturbed the OPD as well as emergency for more than one hour but no body from the administration came out to talk & listen to the demands till police party forcefully pushed them out of the emergency block.
Police party used all the force on the physiotherapy doctors including on female and used vulgar language.
They then sat there and continuously raised slogans especially against back door entry of physiotherapy doctors without any advertisement.
It is especially to note out here that the hospital authorities themselves locked the physiotherapy unit from outside while the staff & the patients were inside the unit.
However when later administration called a team of physiotherapy doctors for a talk, administration straightway denied that they have made appointments.
They added that they have asked higher authorities many times for appointing physiotherapy doctors but there were no response from above. At present few undertraining physiotherapy doctors are coming voluntary for practice only. They added there is need of physiotherapy treatment but there is no doctor in the Hospital for the need of masses.
They also assured that they will again approach the higher authorities with the memorandum in favor of demands.
Meanwhile outside the emergency Block Rajinder Singh Manhas (state vice president PDP), S. Virinder Singh (distt president PDP) & Riaz Atish (state secs youth wing PDP & state in charge PDSF) sat in the dharna and raised slogans in favor of JKPA demands & against the state government & extended their whole heartedly support to the agitation. They said that they will rock the assembly till the demands are not fulfilled by the Government.
