| BJP women representatives gear up for Mah rally | | |

Jammu, Dec 9: A meeting was held at Akhnoor district by the district unit of the mahila morcha presided over by BJP Mahila Morcha state president. Sakina Bano for taking stock of the arrangements and preparations made for the success of the proposed Maha Rally to be held at Parade Ground, Jammu on Dec. 24.
Sakina Bano said that BJP has always been the torch bearer for the total integration of the state with the rest of the country and for emancipation of all the down-trodden people especially the women-folk.
She recalled that it was BJP which got the discriminatory practice of the administration to stamp state subject certificate of the daughters of the state with stamp “Valid Till Marriage only” done away with and shall always stand for the upliftment of the cause of the women-folk.
She described the attitude of the Chief Minister and that of the Congress as being backward looking and desirous of taking the state back to feudalistic state.
She urged the participants to wholeheartedly work for the success of the programme so that clear message gets served to such elements who are bent upon taking the state back.
Prominent among those who were present in the meeting include Priya Sethi, Rajni Sethi, Sushma Manhas, Bimla Padha, Neelam, Reena, Kamla Manhas, Rani Devi, Rajni Verma, Neeru Gupta, Sheela Devi and Anuradha Manhas.
Similarly, a meeting of the district unit of the Mahila Morcha was held at Samba and Kathua under the leadership of district presidents Kamla Gupta, Neena Gupta, Sonia and Chanchla. The meeting was largely attended and arrangements for the maha rally of Dec. 24 were reviewed.
