All India painters camp begins | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 9: Much awaited All India Painters Camp began at Kala Kendra here today. Camp is being organised by Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
“It is an annual feature being held for the promotion of centuries old art of painting,” said secretary Cultural Academy, Zafar Iqbal Manhas. For the encouragement of artistic community, Zafar said that his organisation would soon organise one such camp at Srinagar also.
“We will soon hold one such camp in Kashmir to provide national artists ready platform for demonstration of their artistic skills,” he said. Others who spoke on the occasion included noted painters Bhushan Koul, MK Puri and Additional secretary Cultural Academy, Arvinder Singh Aman.
In all seventeen painters of national repute are participating in the week long painters camp which would test artistic acumen of painting greats like Jatin Dass, Veer Munshi, Mamoon Nomani, Milan Sharma, Iftikhar Jaffar and Ganpat Badke.
