Soz seeks employment for affected families | Laying of railway track | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 9: Congress Member Parliament and President of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Prof. Saifuddin Soz has urged Ministry of railways for providing employment to the wards of the families who had offered land for the railway track between Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla has yielded some results.
In a statement issiued here today, Soz said “I had been approached by All Kissan Railways Association, Anantnag to seek employment of their wards as they had offered land to the railways and employment had to be offered as per the agreement. He added that Ministry of Railways have taken the position that as per the policy in vogue, employment has been provided to one person from each family whose more than 75 percent land has been acquired for Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway track.
Soz has further added that present policy should be amended to accommodate request of all kissan railways association so that employment could be provided to each family whose more that 50 percent land has been acquired for railway track instead of 75 percent as provided in the scheme. Ministry of Railways has agreed to consider this plea”. |
