Anil Gupta is new president of Kabaddi Association | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, December 10: Replacing his father and MLA, Chaman Lal Gupta, Anil Gupta (Anu) has been unanimously elected as president of the Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association, here today. However, Kuldeep Gupta has been retained as general secretary of the new body for another term of four years. This was disclosed in a press conference held here this afternoon by secretary, Kuldeep Gupta, who was accompanied by other office bearers of the Association. The members present in the election meeting also made Ashutosh Sharma and MS Baba (Baramulla) as senior vice-president while BS Tirthi, Ashok Kumar (Udhampur), Arun Gupta and AR Paddar (Anantnag) were nominated as vice-presidents. Other office bearers included: Dinesh Gupta (treasurer), Surinder Mohan Gupta, Anil Padha, GM Ganai (Pulwama), Basharat Khan (joint secretaries), Anil Modi (press secretary), Ar Ahanger (chairman technical committee), Sushil Kumar Jamwal (chairman referee board), Anil Gupta (chairman beach kabaddi), Gulzar Ahmed (chairman circle kabaddi), Mohd Shafi (chairman rules committee), Hakumat Singh (chairman disciplinary committee), Fazal Hussain, Ajay Gupta and Anil Sharma (executive members). Meanwhile, soon after his election as president, Anil Gupta committed to promote kabaddi in the state. He said, “Efforts would be made to hold district championships at every district headquarter besides construction of two international standard stadiums in Jammu and Srinagar.
