J&K struggles to save innings defeat in Ranji | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, December 10: Following on, Jammu and Kashmir looked tense struggling to save innings defeat in the hands of Vidarbha that too on the home turf in the ongoing Ranji Trophy Plate Group-B League tie at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today. Playing at 224 for six in 86 overs, J&K still in need of 42 more runs to match Vidarbha’s first innings total of 431. When the stumps drawn, Hardeep Singh and skipper, Abid Nabi were at the crease with 26 and four runs in their respective accounts. Earlier, wicket-keeper batsman, Arshad Bhat played yet another fine innings of 75 runs to help J&K surpass the 200 runs mark in the second innings. Opener, H Fayaz Ahmed also played well contributing 43 runs while Asif Jeelani added 27 runs to the total. From Vidarbha, AA Wakhare and AMI Sheikh clinched two wickets each. Meanwhile, in the first innings, J&K could make only 165 runs losing their last wicket by adding only 14 runs to the total this morning and followed on.
