JMC intensifies its anti encroachment drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 10: Under the strict instructions of S.C. Sawhney, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu, the Enforcement Staff and Sanitation Staff led by Dr. Anwar Choudhary Health Officer and Satish Khajuria Chief Enforcement Officer undertook a joint drive and demolished few Pacca platforms raised by the shopkeepers over the Municipal Drains. These constructions which were causing obstruction in the free flow of drain water and also creating unsanitary conditions in the area of Shahidi Chowk near Delhi Public School. The team while further continuing the Anti Encroachment Drive to clear the footpaths / pavements visited the areas below Gumat, Gurudwara Sunder Singh Road, Residency Road, Vinayak Bazar and seized the goods / articles like television, bicycles, tri cycles, iron tools, garments, foot wears, motors, soda create, etc. placed by the shopkeepers by encroaching upon footpaths / pavements in these areas. Besides this, the Municipal Veterinary Officer alongwith field staff conducted drive against the adulteration of milk and visited the areas of New Plot, Sarwal, Subash Nagar, Janipur, Bantalab etc. During the drive 104 no’s of milk cans were checked, out of which 2 milk cans which were of sub-standard quality / not fit for human consumption were destroyed on spot. Further continuing the drive to check the menace of stray animals, the team visited the areas of Panjthirthi, Gumat, New Plot, Janipur, Talab Tillo, Circular Road, Bahu Fort, Gandhi Nagar, Narwal, Trikuta Nagar etc and lifted 13 stray animals from these areas. The stray animals were impounded in the Municipal Cattle Pound. A total amount of Rs. 5780.00 was charged as fine from defaulters on spot.
