| Protesting physiotherapists again lathicharged | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 10: Demanding creation of jobs in medical sector, protesting physiotherapists were lathicharged today outside Government Medical College and Hospital in this winter capital. Nearly 50 physiotherapists this morning took out a procession and proceeded towards GMC but they were not allowed to enter the premises due to heavy deployment of police. Protestors forcibly tried to enter the Medical College following which, police resorted to mild lathicharge. Later addressing protestors, Physiotherapist leader said that agitation would continue unless government creates job for them in the medical faculty.' ''We will fight unless the closed physiotherapist department in the Medical College will not be made functional besides creation of jobs,'' a leader said. “Government is deliberately forcing them to take extreme steps,” agitating physiotherapists added. Amid anti-government slogans, they said if the matter would linger on, they would launch massive agitation and also Gherao the coming assembly session. Strike of physiotherapy doctors under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Physiotherapist Association (JKPA) has entered 18th consecutive day.
