| Co-curricular activities must for development of youth: Shabir | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 10: Minister of State for Power Shabir Ahmad Khan underscored the need for incorporating modern trends in the curriculum of education to face the present world challenges. Addressing inaugural function of Christmas Carnival, Fancy Dress and Dance competition of Tiny Tots of various educational institutions, organized by an NGO Pooja Kala Sangam here today at Abhinav Theatre, the Minister said that organizing of such competitions among the budding youth would explore their hidden talent and guide them in future while choosing their jobs. Shabir said that the government has taken various innovative initiatives for providing quality and technical education to the youth of the State, adding that trust is also being laid on co-curricular activities. “Youth are the future builders of a nation and it is duty of all to prepare them in all respects so that they could compete successfully the future challenges at global level”, the Minister said. He called upon the teaching community, parents and various NGOs to work with devotion and help acquainting the students with latest trends of education, which he said is imperative to make Jammu and Kashmir a developed state. Minister gave away mementos and medals to the students who participated in the competition and appreciated the efforts taken by the NGO in this regard.
