| Dy CM for early formulation of Leh Master Plan | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 10: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand has directed for speedy formulation of Master Plan for Leh city for its integrated development.
Tara Chand issued the direction following a meeting with a delegation of councilors led by Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) Rigzin Spalbar, which put-forth development demands of Leh city and other towns of the district. Minister for Tourism Nawang Rigzin Jora, Principal/Secretary Housing & Urban Development Suresh Kumar and Director Local Bodies Kashmir, Khawja Farooq Renzu Shah were also present.
Deputy Chief Minister stressed on augmenting infrastructure in Leh with focus on construction of lanes and drains and installing street lights. He said Leh is emerging as a hub of tourist activities necessitating expansion in the existing infrastructure. For the purpose, he said master plan was necessary to visualize infrastructure requirements for present and future.
In view of increasing tourist influx, he said Government has accorded priority to the development of Ladakh. He said it is heartening to see increasing influx of tourists both domestic and foreign year by year.
