JURSF cautions cong ministers against misleading masses | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 10: President of Jammu University Research Scholars Forum (JURSF) Ajay Magotra has cautioned congress ministers against issuing statements aimed at gaining public sympathy and misleading general masses. In a handout issued here today, Magotra said that merely giving statements would not work and instead, ministers would have to work honestly for addressing the issuing of regional discrimination. He added that Jammuites have been befooled by local leadership from the last 62 years of independence. He stressed that certain people for personal and political interests have been making false promises. Magotra said that Jammu and Kashmir is sensitive from security and political point of view because of weak politics at the Centre and the state, separatists are gaining ground and getting VIP treatment for shouting anti-national slogans. He demanded that in the light of his statement, Sham Lal Sharma should also be prosecuted under the law of the land. He has cleared his stand on merger and accession confusion created by Chief Minister of the state. Magotra said that Sham Lal is part of the cabinet which frames policies to ensure jobs for militants, stone-pelters, anti-nationals and there is nothing for educated youth. With reference to the yesterday's statement of P. Chidambaram that peaceful protests should be allowed in Kashmir, Magotra asked the home minister why in Jammu even raising the voice for a genuine cause is a punishable offence. Magotra extend support to the physiotherapists protesting in the streets for the last seventeen days. Fiaz Ahmed, research scholar Dogri Dept., Jeet Singh research scholar Dept. of English and Naseeb Ali also spoke on the occasion.
