| Arrest warrants against VC, secretary JDA | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 10: The court of divisional consumer forum has issued arrest warrants against JDA's vice-chairman and secretary for the non-compliance of its orders. The forum has invoked section 21 of the Consumer Protection Act against them.
The court directive came in a complaint filed by Ashok Kumar in which he said he had not been given possession of a piece of land which was allotted to him by JDA at Paloura (phase IV) few years back.
On April 16, 2007, the forum had directed JDA to give Ashok the possession of land within five weeks failing which the development authority would pay Rs 500 per day as compensation to the complainant.
On October 5, 2010, also, the forum had directed JDA to for the needful. However, following the non-compliance of its orders, the forum issued arrest warrants against vice-chairman Vinod Sharma and secretary Mohammad Yousaf Malik.
The Trikuta Nagar police station SHO was also directed to execute the forum orders and produce the two JDA functionaries before it on December 30 to determine the quantum of sentence. |
