Cabinet approved amendments for setting up of State Election Commission | Nod to pay anomalie committee report | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 10: In a major decision the state government today approved amendment of state Panchayati Raj act which will pave way for setting up of State Election Commission. In another important decision awaited by the employees of the state, the Govt today approved the report of committee which was constituted by the government to check pay anomalies at various levels. After the approval, the draft bill to amend the Act will be introduced in the State Legislative Assembly during ensuing session for its passage. The draft bill had been prepared on the recommendation of an expert committee which was constituted on August 18, 2009 in consultation with Law and Finance Department after demands from the public and various political parties for amendments in the Act. The Expert Panel was headed by Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Ali Mohammad Sagar. In another decision, the Cabinet also approved one post of Additional Advocate General (AAG) with its Headquarter at New Delhi and Additional Standing Counsel for the state at the Supreme Court. It also approved the extension in the services of IAS officer and Commissioner Sales Tax, Bashir Ahmed and re-employment of former Deputy Director, District Motor Garages Leh, Abdul Hakeem. |
