Defending champions in men’s section and third position holders in women category, JU has put in great efforts to raise competitive teams to give improved performance. “Since JU won the men’s overall championship last year, we have left no stone unturned to provide the probable best of the training to retain the title. An improved performance is expected in women’s category,” he said adding, “A 15-day camp was organised to train the JU teams under the guidance of international fencer, Rashid Ahmed and Sports Council coach, Shotu Lal.” However, JU was yet to name the final teams for the competition ahead. “We shall be finalizing the teams by December 13, a day before the event starts,” Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau told.
