| Concern over encroachments in forests | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 11: A meeting of office bearers of Youth National Conference of Bhaderwah constituency was held under the leadership of Mudasir Zargar provincial vice president YNC (Youth National Conference) Jammu.
The current situation of the area was discussed in the meeting regarding various development works, with a major focus on deforestation and encroachment in forest division Bhaderwah.
The members informed about deteriorated condition of the forest area of the division caused by the irresponsible and dictating attitude of DFO Bhaderwah, who with the help of some blue eyed forest officials is taking huge graft from the forest mafia for illegal green damage and encroachments.
Zargar alarmed the youth to remain vigilant in their areas about the green damage in various key compartments of Bhaderwah Division.
He further said the poor people of the area are being denied even the wood as it is getting cold day by day and the poor have no other means and they are totally dependant upon the forest wood.
YNC workers appealed Forest Minister of state to intervene immediately and enquire the whole episode of deforestation and encroachments in forest land of division Bhaderwah.
Various block presidents were also present in the meeting.
