| Three days NSS workshop concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 11: A three days NSS workshop concluded at GDC (Boys) Udhampur today.
In the workshop more than 100 NSS volunteers participated.
During this workshop massive cleanliness drive was launched in the college campus. Volunteers also collected donation for the orphan children of Old Age Home and Bal Ashram Udhampur,as these two Ashrams were adopted by NSS units of the college. Besides this, a blood donation camp was also held in the college. This camp was sponsored by HDFC Bank.
In this camp, staff members including principal and volunteers donated 53 units of blood. On the concluding day, a symposium on the topic “Role of Youth in the Eradication of Corruption from the Society”, was held in which eight NSS volunteers were the speakers. In the symposium Kuljeet Singh of B.A-.II, Bhabishan Singh of B.A-III were adjudged 1st and 3rd respectively whereas 2nd prize was shared by. Pankaj Sharma of B.Sc -I and Shivani Bhat of BBA-III .
The consolation prize went to Kanav Sharma of B.A- II
On this occasion, Tara Nath , HOD Dogri also addressed the NSS volunteers and advised them to aware the general masses about the menace of corruption.
Banarsi Lal, Dharvinder Kumar and Shreya Bakshi were the adjudicators. This workshop was held under the guidance of NSS programme officers Uday Bhanu and Suresh Kumar Dogra.
