KD targets SMGS hospital as centre of loot

Jammu, Dec 11: Kranti Dal has alleged that the SMGS hospital has become a centre of loot by the concerned persons.
A team of KD representatives visited the hospital and discussed the problems faced by the patients in the there.
Speaking on the occasion Rajinder Bhagat city sr. vice president said that the paramedical staff is looting the patients & their attendants and they are forced to pay money on one pretext or the other.
It is in the knowledge of hospital authorities but they have closed their eyes towards such acts as they are hand in glove with these persons.
They said agents of the pvt laboratories are active in the premises of SMGS and doctors force the patients to get some unwanted tests done from their favourite laboratory from where they get the commission.
They also prescribe some costly medicines for the patients and get commission from the companies, while low cost medicine of same salt is available in the market. Also the racket is being shielded by the bureaucrats and ministers, he alleged.
He also said that the condition of the toilets is so bad that even it has become very difficult for a person to cross over from that place. Even the drinking water is stinking and is not fit for drinking.
He also said that the concerned authorities must take the complaints of the attendants and patients seriously as it has been told many a times that the security personnel are indulged in teasing them specially ladies and even are using fool language.
Also may a times some unwanted elements are seen in the premises and that too with the indulgence of the security personnel.
Some employees of the hospital used to drink liquor in the night hours and indulge in anti social activities.
Pritam Sharma said that the concerned minister and health director must look in the situation personally and take appropriate steps to curb the menace.
In the SMGS young guards will be replaced by lady guards. Doctors will write the name of the salt instead of name of the medicines and so on. He also said that the scheme launched by the Govt. to pay money to the Mother & Child (Jachha-Bachha Scheme) will be properly implemented in the hospital as instead of giving money the SMGS staff is minting money from the patients as donations.
