Human Rights Day Observed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur ,Dec 11: To commemorate the International Human Rights Day, the Indian Democratic Human Rights Organization, Rural Development Society and Social Reforms and Charitable Organization jointly hosted a day of events here . The day included discussions and lectures intended to raise awareness about global human rights violations. Addressing NGO members and people, Advocates Dinkar Gupta and Susheel Kumar highlighted the growing importance of human rights and stressed need for its awareness on massive scale to educate and enlighten the citizens especially children to make society vibrant and law abiding. Sarita Devi of IDHRO spoke on “International women’s rights, child labour laws ,their legal rights and emphasized on the situation of street children viz Human rights violation. She apprised audience to be more hypersensitive towards social issues relating to children for instance child marriages, forced marriages, child labour and abuse of children at tender age . She advised all human rights activists to work for underprivileged and fight against female foeticide, drugs, AIDS and child labour. Others who spoke on the occasion were social worker Anil Paba , Parvesh Parihar , Sat Paul Sarita Devi ,Poonam Bakshi , Neelam , Raghav , Govind Ram Maden Lal and Namrata Jamwal
