| JMC launhces anti-demolition drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU DEC 11: Under instructions from S.C. Sawhney, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, the Enforcement Staff led by Satish Khajuria and S.D. Tak, Chief Enforcement Officers along with police force undertook the demolition drive. During the demolition drive, the team demolished the lentar laid down during the late night hours by a builder which was not in accordance with the building plan approved by the Jammu Municipal Corporation and not conforming to the building by-laws at Gurudwara Sunder Singh Road. They also removed encroachment by demolishing the walls which were being raised by a shopkeeper to extend the shop at Karan Market and also demolished the RCC pillars of shops at Lower Roop Nagar.
Besides this, the team also cleared the footpaths / pavements in the areas of Roop Nagar, Muthi, Barani, Lower Roop Nagar and seized the goods / articles like quilts, crates, tubs, sheets, counters, sign boards, water purifiers from these areas.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation once again appealed to the General Public to refrain from making encroachments and unauthorised constructions otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolitions at the cost of the owner will be taken. |
