Certain urchins spreading canards about Early Times | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 11: Perturbed over the public response towards Early Times newspaper, certain unidentified urchins have begun spreading fantastic canards across media circles. These urchins are reportedly giving threatening calls to the government officials on the name of Early Times newspaper, probably with intent to bring disrepute to the owners and journalists associated with the newspaper. A few days ago, media circles were abuzz with the news of seizure of Early Times newspaper and closure of the printing press associated with it. Management of Early Times preferred not to react but a day later, a rumor was spread across the media circles that an FIR had been lodged at Pucca Danga police station against one of the senior correspondents of Early Times for allegedly making threatening phone calls to officers of Information Department. Finding the happening unbelievable, ET rang up all the concerned quarters in the police department to find factual position with regard to the rumor in the media circles. ET found out from the concerned police station that the news was baseless and a figment of imagination of certain cribbed individuals, who are jealous of growth achieved by the newspaper within short space of time. ET would like to emphasize that its management as well as staff despite facing worst kind of state vindication has not lost sense of responsibility and is conscious of journalistic ethos. ET would like to plead with officials at all the levels to bring into the notice of its management if at all out staffers are involved at the official level in any uncivilized or intolerable activity. Alongside this, we would like to make it clear that our mission to unveil truth would continue despite being in the midst of worst kind of administrative oppression
