Lecturers’ delegation calls on DSE, highlights grievances

Jammu, Dec 12: A delegation of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers Forum on Sunday met the Director School Education (DSE), Jammu, Gulzar Qureshi in his office chamber here.
Led by state president of the forum, H D Qureshi, the delegation comprised Charandass and Manmeet Bali, both vice presidents, N S Jamwal, general secretary, Ashwani Sharma chief organiser, B.D.Sharma, district president Jammu, discussed at length the overall scenario of education in Jammu division with special focus on the goal of “academic excellence” and “quality education”.
The delegation also submitted memorandum to the Director with suggestive proposals for the betterment of education particularly in far-flung and remote areas of the province and suggested for constituting of “advisory council” and “task force” to achieve the goals of accountability and punctuality in the institutions.
They also apprised the Director that the curricula basically forms the basis of education and that needs to be reviewed by the experts from the field of school education to make it in accordance with the needs and aspirations of budding generation to face the challenges of 21st century.
The re-organisation of the department and rationalization was the point of discussion during the meet and the Director Education was apprised the need of reorganization and rationalization of the staff at senior secondary level.
The delegation apprised the Director the difficulties of Faculty members at senior secondary level in absence of residential accommodations and appealed the Director for special provisions of Residential Accommodation with every Higher Secondary School through the funds of RMSA being introduced.
The Director School Education after a comprehensive discussion with the delegation appreciated the constructive approach of the Forum for such briefing and assured that he would personally take up all the issues raised through memorandum.
