Football: Super league tie ends in `dispute’
12/12/2010 9:28:28 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, December 12: In the ongoing super league round of the Football League Tournament at GGM Science College ground, here, the match between Jammu Sports-A and Young Hero remained inconclusive due to a `dispute’ over referee’s decision.
The game which was going on smoothly came to a halt in the 25th minute over a decision of the assistant referee (line man).
“The provocative words used by Jammu Sports forward, Simon, provoked the assistant referee, who in turn showed a red card. The action of the referee sparked tension among both the teams resulting into Jammu Sports A left the ground in protest,” an official of the Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) told SAN.
All out efforts on part of the organisers to pacify and convince the teams to complete the game gone waste as both sides were adamant not to play.
