Jammu , Dec 12 A meeting of the Working Committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha was held today under the presidentship of Gulchain Singh Charak.
The working committee deliberated upon the non-issuance of “Dogra Certificate” by the Deputy Commissioner to the youths. This certificate is useful for the recruitment of Dogra youths in Armed forces, as well as, Central and State Security Forces.
Numberdars and Chowkidars have not been paid their remuneration for the last several months.
Meanwhile, the meeting also discussed Jammu festival which is not being organized as per the previous practice. The Sabha members are going to take up the issue of organising Jammu Festival in April, 2011 shall with the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
Sabha members said that in case concerned authorities show inability for organizing the Festival, they were ready to take up responsibility of organizing the same.
In order to promote Dogra culture, it was decided to hold Dogra Turban Tying Training Camp at different places in this region. To begin with such camps will be organized in Tehsil Bishnah and Tehsil Samba in the January 1, 2011.
It was further decided that the General Council Meeting of Dogra Sadar Sabha, Jammu will be held on 20th Jan 2011.
The Working Committee meeting was attended by Prof. M.R. Puri (Ex-Vice Challancer, Jammu University), G.S Jamwal (Retd. Major General), Prof. N.K Dogra ( Vice President), Prem Sagar Gupta ( Gen. Secretary ), Prof N.R. Sharma, S. Kulbir Singh (Finance Secretary), Dr. Ashok Bhagat, Capt. Harshvardhan Sharma, Som Nath Sharma, Bashir Ahmed Malik, Shanker Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Jai Singh.
