| Destruction of temple | | Bhalla defuses tension, promises rebuilding | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 12: Gole market of Gandhinagar area remained tense hroughout the day over destruction of temporary built temple in a public park here today.
However, before the situation could go out of control, Revenue
Minister Raman Bhalla intervened and announced construction of modern temple in place of destroyed one. People of Gandhi Nagar covered some portion of park with shed following emergence of natural sign of lord Sheshnag and started worshiping it.
On seeing the park being occupied, government enforcement agencies sent their men for destruction of the same who during mid night exercise demolished it. Condemning callous attitude of the government agencies, people started noisy
protests.
However, before situation could go out of control, Bhalla reached site of incidence and announced construction of temple out of his constituency development fund. When contacted, Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla said that nobody will be allowed to hurt sentiments of the
people. He further said that an inquiry has been ordered into the destruction of the temple.
