JMC continues anti-encroachment drive | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 13: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) alongwith police force continued anti- encroachment drive to clear footpaths, pavements and visited areas of Bikram Chowk, Gandhi Nagar, Nai Basti, Shalamar Road and seized articles placed by shopkeepers by encroaching vacant spaces. In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that the team which seized the articles was working under the instructions of commissioner JMC S.C. Sawhney. The enforcement staff was led by Chief Enforcement Officer (CEO) Satish Khajuria. Team also seized the rehries which were found stationary / without license and were causing obstruction to the free flow of vehicular traffic and pedestrians. Besides this the encroachment was also removed by demolishing part of shop which was being extended by encroaching upon part of the road at Sher-i-Kashmir Market Pulpar. During the drive, sign boards which were installed unauthorisedly at the public places were also removed from the areas of Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar.
