| Stadium XI, Jasrota Club win in T20 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, December 13: Kathua Stadium XI and Jasrota Cricket Club (JCC) won their respective matches to advance in the ongoing DySP Manjit Singh Memorial North Zone Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here today.
In the first match of the day, Stadium XI defeated Golu Cricket Club (GCC) by six wickets. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, GCC bowled out for 108 runs in 19.5 overs. Shalu and Pardeep were top scorers with 34 and 25 runs respectively. From Stadium XI, Lara claimed three wickets while Prashant took two.
Later, Stadium XI chased the 109 runs target in 17 overs losing four wickets. Rompy played match winning innings of unbeaten 75 and was declared man of the match.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Jasrota Club registered 39 runs win over Jammu XI. Batting first, Jasrota XI set a big target of 168 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Vinayak was main scorer with 33 runs while Sonu contributed 26. From Jammu XI, Akshay clinched three wickets while Akash and Vikrant shared two each.
In reply, Jammu XI exhausted their allotted quota for 128 runs for the loss of six wickets. Nikhil and Mohit Gupta were top scorers with 33 and 32 runs in their respective accounts. For his all round performance, Vinayak was adjudged man of the match.
The man of the match presented a cash prize of Rs 500 by the organizers.
