| LeT commander eliminated, arms, ammunition recovered | | |
JAMMU NOV-05- A Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Commander was gunned down in an encounter in Poonch area while Security Forces recovered a cache from his possession.
A Police spokesman said that during intervening night of 3-4 November 38 RR, CRPF and Police launched a joint search operation in general area of Sangiote Mohalla Qureshi in Gurasi area of Poonch district. The militant who was hiding in a house fired upon the search party who effectively retaliated and during the gunfight the militant was killed. During search operation an encounter took place in which one militant identified as Ziafat Shah Commander of Let outfit was eliminated.
The spokesman said the forces recovered one Pika gun, one AK 56 rifle with two magazines, 96 Pika rounds, 47 AK rounds, one RCTD, one mobile charger, radio transistor, walkman, one hand grenade, one pouch, three diaries and 70 cassettes were recovered from the slain militant.
A kacha house of Mohammed Zaman son of Khazar Din was also damaged in the cross firing.
