| 7 held for black marketing of govt cement | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 13: Seven persons, including a contractor, were arrested by police in connection with the black marketing of government cement at Pindi Camp in Bishnah near here today.
A total of 70 bags were seized, police sources said.
Sources said out of 100 cement bags allotted to him for the construction of drains at Pindi Camp, contractor Satpal Singh sold 70 to Khoju Ram of Pindi Camp.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided Khoju's house and seized the cement bags, the sources added. Apart from apprehending Satpal and Khoju, police also took into custody five labourers who had carried the cement.
Police had registered a case against all of them under relevant sections of law. |
