Discrimination against ET intolerable: Gupta | | | Early Times Report udhampur, Dec 13: The BJP Udhampur has taken strong exception to the indifferent & discriminatory attitude of the state government against Early Times. In a statement issued here, BJP State Vice-President Pawan Gupta stated that most of the news items contained in the Early Times relate to the discrimination being meted out to the people of Jammu for the last more than 60 years. "Early Times has been fearlessly reporting the truth for the common masses which has put a question-mark on the credentials of the state government", he said. Gupta while appreciating the Early Times for continuously raising the voice of Jammu said that it has really exposed the discriminatory attitude of the government towards Jammu. Gupta said that Early Times has now become the voice of Jammu & that is why the state government is trying to suppress the newspaper which is a highly condemnable act in the world's largest democracy. Coming down heavily on the state government, Gupta said that the government should encourage such dailies that have been revealing the truth before the people instead of harassing them. Gupta further added that media is one of the most important pillars of our democracy and any act aimed at suppressing the voice of the people is condemnable. Extending support to Early Times, Gupta said that the daily has exposed the real face of the government which should be appreciated at all levels. He warned the government against harassing the newspaper. |
