JPPF concerned over inordinate delay in setting up Central University

Jammu, Dec 14: Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF) has expressed serious concern over inordinate delay in setting up the sanctioned Central University of Jammu.
In a meeting held here today, the forum while expressing apprehension of a conspiracy to scuttle the establishment of Central University Jammu, said that while all other recently sanctioned Central Universities have become functional and even run courses for three to four turns and even the Central University Kashmir has completed one semester, coming into being of Jammu Central University is nowhere insight. The State Government has not even acquired the identified land for the purpose.
Condemning the brutal use of force against unemployed physiotherapists’, including the females by the J&K Police and State administration, JPPF has demanded immediate placement in government jobs of all these physiotherapists.
The JPPF also expressed its concern on the delay tactics of State and Central government to provide the status of state subjects to West Pakistan Refugees.
A meeting of the Jammu People Province forum held here today under the chairmanship of Thakur Pavitar Singh, Ex. session Judge and attended among others Sunil Sethi President Bar Association Jammu, Narayan Singh President Rajput Sabha, Inderjeet Khajuria, President Hotels and Lodges Association, Yash Pal Gupta President Federation of Commerce and Industry, S.Gajan Singh and M.L Sharma, Kuldeep Luthra of Shiv Sena (Bal Thackrey), Sat Pal Kranti, Labour Union leader also extended its full support to the Congress Minister Sham Lal Sharma, who has identified himself with aspirations of Jammu People. It cautioned the Congress of consequences if any action is taken against Sham Lal Sharma for the views expressed by him about separate Jammu State and union territory for Ladakh. A deputation of JPPF also met the minister to express its solidarity.
