Junior Khalsa Club wins in T20

KATHUA, December 14: Junior Khalsa Club Jammu today defeated Shakti Cricket Club Kolkotta by 68 runs in the ongoing DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here.
Batting first after winning the toss, Junior Khalsa set a target of 157 runs for the loss of eight wickets, which, in reply, Shakti Club could not chase and bowled out for 88 runs.
Gagandeep Singh was top scorer with 31 runs while Harpreet Singh contributed unbeaten 27. Harvinder too remained unbeaten adding nine-ball 22 runs. The highest 41 runs came through extras. From Shakti Club, Devla and Simon took two wickets each.
Chasing a target of near eight-run per over, Shakti Club lost all their wickets for just 88 runs. Suman was main scorer with 30 runs while Santu added 13. From Junior Khalsa, Devinder claimed three wickets for five runs in four overs, followed by Harvinder, who took two.
For his all round performance, Harvinder was declared man of the match. He was presented a cash prize of Rs 500 by special guest, Dr Satvir Singh Rana.
