JMC continues anti-encroachment drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 14: The Enforcement wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted an anti-encroachment drive in various parts of the city today. The Enforcement Staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer Satish Khajuria further continued the drive under instructions from Commissioner JMC SC Sawhney. The team visited the areas of Shalamar, City Chowk, Old Hospital Road, Hari Market and Ranbir Market to clear the footpaths as well as pavements from the possession oe encroachers. It seized the goods, articles like Gas Cylinder, Beds, Tables, Benches, Ladder, Drums, Weighing Scales, Foot Wears, Shawls, Jackets, Sign Boards, Packed Bundle etc which were placed upon footpaths. During the drive the team also seized the rehries which were found stationary and without Rehrie License causing obstruction to the free flow of vehicular traffic and pedestrians. Besides this, the Municipal Veterinary Officer along with field staff also conducted drive against the adulteration of milk and visited the areas of Jewel Area, Canal Road, Talab Tillo and Muthi. During the drive 75 milk cans were checked out of which one can which was not fit for human consumption was destroyed and a fine of Rs 1800.00 was also realized from the erring milk vendors on spot. Further continuing the drive to check the menace of stray animals, the team had visited the areas of Panjtirthi, New Plot, Paloura, Muthi, Jewel Area, Talab Tillo, Circular Road, Bakshi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Satwari, Digiana, Trikuta Nagar, Sainik Colony, Narwal etc and lifted 13 stray animals from these areas. The stray animals were impounded in the Municipal Cattle Pound and an amount of Rs 1500 was also realized as fine from the owners of stray animals.
