Progress on centrally sponsored schemes reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Samba, Dec 14: A meeting to review the progress of schemes under District Plan, Centrally Sponsored Schemes and major projects in the district was held under the chairmanship of Tara Chand, Deputy Chief Minister, J&K who is also the Chairman of District Development Board, Samba. The meeting was also attended by Minister for Industries and Commerce Surjit Singh Slathia . Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers to undertake extensive touring to monitor the schemes so as to achieve assigned targets. He also directed all the District Officers that they should send the progress on the weekly basis, to the District Development Commissioner and the critical issues/bottlenecks in implementing the schemes should also be brought to the notice for remedial measures and the DDC shall apprise him of the progress accordingly. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for I&C stressed that many of the poor who have been left out from the BPL list should be covered under the scheme, especially under IAY and further emphasized that the scheme of MGNREGS needs to be implemented with full vigor and zeal so as to provide wider coverage . He also impressed upon the DDC to ensure that the Utilization Certificates of the schemes of the Rural Development especially IAY and MG-NREGS to Govt. of India as per there prescribed norms for obtaining subsequent installation of funds from Govt. of India. Among others, J.L.Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Director, Urban Local Bodies, R.C.Sharma, ADC, Sant Ram, CPO, Superintending Engineers Hydraulic Wing, PWD, PHC, besides the District Officers of various Departments attended the meeting.
