Chib directs for speeding up pace on super specialty hospital | | | EARLY TIMES REPOPRT JAMMU, DECEMBER 14: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports has taken serious note in the execution of Super Specialty Hospital, making it clear to the CPWD that Government will not entertain any further extension in the completion of the vital project. Chairing a high level meeting with the officers of CPWD, HLL and concerned department of State Government, the Minister said that no compromise will be made on the quality of works. He asked CPWD to re-double its efforts and ensure Integrated Modular OTs are procured well in time. He also directed for installation of oxygen concentrate plant of 65 cubic mm per hour capacity at the site to ensure regular and interrupted supply of oxygen to the hospital. Chib directed that construction of under pass should not divide the premises of the vital Health project, suggesting that the concerned architect should be consulted for sorting out the issue. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Medical Education, R.K. Jerth, Principal Medical College, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Director Family Welfare/ Co-ordinator, Super Specialist Hospital, Dr. Rakesh Khajuria, Chief Engineer, CPWD, B.B. Gupta, Chief Engineer Power, Chief Engineer PWD, Chief Engineer Mechanical, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Managing Director, JKI and senior officers of CPWD, UEED,HLL and other concerned departments. The Chief Engineer, CPWD informed that most of the critical components of the hospital have been already completed but they are facing difficulty in procurement of Integrated Modular Operation Theatres for the said hospital. The Chief Engineer, CPWD stated that Integrated Modular OTs is state-of-the-art equipment and is presently available only at a few hospitals across the country. Chib asked the Chief Engineer, R&B, to start widening work on the road in front of the hospital and directed the UEED agencies to take up STP work in and around the premises at the earliest. The Minister said that after completion, the prestigious 138 crore project will facilitate the patients with several vital facilities like oxygen concentrate plant, Nero-surgery, cardiothoracic, uro-surgery and other latest diagnostic and treatment services in Jammu.
