JK on threshold of dev revolution: Rather | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, DECEMBER 14:- Asserting that J&K is on the threshold of development revolution, the Minister for Finance, A.R. Rather today said that remaining four months of present dispensation would be a turning point for all round socio-economic transformation of the State. Addressing a public gathering, after laying the foundation of Rs 1.44 crore Primary Health Centre building at Nowpora, Budgam, the Minister said a golden era of development and prosperity has been set into motion by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah. The District development Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Rafi, Managing Director, JK Housing Board, Dalip Thusoo, Chief Medical Officer Budgam, Dr. M. Abdullah and Deputy General Manager Housing Board, Aftab Pandit were also present. Rather said in addition to meet the developmental urges of the people, measures are underway to address J&K problem through a structured dialogue. “We believe that the people are real fountain head of power and want to empower them in decision making and plan implementation through devolution of power,’’ Rather added. He called upon the people to participate in the forth coming Panchayat election in a big way to shape their destiny by themselves.
