| Udhampur Panther MLA indulge in cheap politics : BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Dec 14: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has alleged that Panthers MLA Udahmpur and his party colleagues have indulged in cheap politics over University campus, Udhampur.
Addressing media persons here today, Youth leader Sunny Mahajan said that for the past few days, , Mankotia along with some of his party colleagues are disrupting the studies of the students by raking up the campus issue in a bid to achieve petty political gains.
Mahajan said that when in August 2003, the then PM Atal Behari Vajpayee was on a visit to Jammu, the State BJP submitted a memorandum to him on August 29, 2003 containing various demands including University campus for Udhampur. Mahajan also distributed the copies of the said memorandum amongst the media persons. Mahajan said that this fact becomes more evident by the Press Release issued immediately after the announcement of package of Rs 30 crore to the JU by the then PM.
Mahajan further disclosed that in the said release, the then Vice-Chancellor of JU, Prof Amitabh Mattoo has clearly extended his heartiest thanks to Vajpayee for such package which included Rs 5 crore each for University campuses of Udhampur & Kathua.
Mahajan said that the Panthers Party has the history of misleading the common masses but the people of Udhampur now fully know the truth.
While coming down heavily on the NPP MLA, the BJP activists alleged that when everybody knows that Construction-work of the University
Campus is going to start soon; the MLA is trying to politicize the issue just for his own petty politics.
The BJP activists warned MLA to refrain from such anti-people activities as they will no longer be tolerated anymore.
