| Bitta Karate wants Kahmiri Pundits back | | |
Srinagar,Nov 06: While expressing a desire for the return of Kashmiri migrant Pandits, one time hit-man of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Farooq Dar alias Bitta Karate today took a dig at Mohammed Yasin Malik by alleging that he had ditched the Kashmiri people by holding a dialogue with India. Dar, however, said that vested interests shall not be allowed to take away the right to self determination from Kashmiri people. Terming the bilateral dialogue between India and Pakistan a fruitless exercise and engagement of Kashmiris in the dialogue process unavoidable, Dar said "a lasting solution to the Kashmir problem can not be reached unless a third party mediates." Interestingly, Dar preferred the Nannaji faction of JKLF over Malik's faction after his release from jail last week after spending seventeen years in detention. Dar was speaking to media persons at a press conference in Hotel Ahdoos in Srinagar. "If the Kashmiri Pandits wish to return to valley, their decision is welcome," Dar said, adding "The court has freed me of all the allegations of killing Pandits and the JKLF has no reservation over the return of migrant Pandits to their homeland." Calling Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front as the first organisation that took up the issue of Kashmir 's independence, Dar said that JKLF still stuck to its agenda of complete in dependence. Ruling out any kind of bilateral dialogue, which according to Dar can not yield results, Dar said that JKLF was monitoring the dialogue process between India and Pakistan closely. "However, the dialogue shall meet the same fate as the dialogue processes that took place in the past," Dar said. "We stress upon a trilateral dialogue over Kashmir so that a lasting and peaceful solution of the issue can be found. We stand for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue," Dar said in the press conference. "However, the involvement of Kashmiris in the dialogue process was unavoidable," Dar added. "Some vested interests have started a bilateral dialogue with India recently. The step is aimed to malign the movement," Dar said. Without naming JKLF chairman, Mohammed Yasin Malik, Dar warned him to refrain from any such attempts. |
