J&K destroying democratic institutions: Murtaza
12/14/2010 11:36:31 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 14: Early Times newspaper is passing through a tough but historic phase because of democratically elected NC-Congress coalition government led by Chief Minister CM Abdullah.
This was stated by MLC and senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Murtaza Khan in a statement issued here today. He expressed deep regret over the attitude of state government towards Early Times newspaper. "I am unable to understand why government is hell bent upon demolishing and destroying every other democratic institution in Jammu and Kashmir," added Khan.
He stressed that harassment of media which is already working under difficult circumstances speaks in volumes about how grave situation is in Jammu and Kashmir. "I am fully conscious of the manner in which Early Times is being harassed for pointing towards the wrongs both in political and administrative circles. Government should have complimented Early Times for its bold and effective reporting but it has acted otherwise," maintained Khan.
