University teachers submit memorandum of demands

JAMMU, Dec 15: A joint deputation of teachers associations of the universities of Kashmir and Jammu called on the Governor N. N. Vohra at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum of demands.
Demands projected to the Governor by deputationists included interalia, enhancement of retirement age of Professors from 60 to 62 years, payment of arrears on account of 6th Pay Commission and augmentation of residential accommodation at Jammu University.
Governor gave a patient hearing to the deputation, which comprised of President Kashmir University Teachers Association (KUTA) Dr. M. Y. Ganai, President, Jammu University Teachers Association, Prof. Daleep Singh Jamwal, Dean Academic Affairs, Kashmir University, Prof. Mohammad Yousuf, Prof. G. M. Malik, Dr. Mohammad Hussain, Dr. Viney Chauhan and Dr. Parkash Chand. Principal Secretary to the Governor R. K. Goyal was present on the occasion.
